Other than being just plain fun, these stories are designed to engage young listeners with frequent repeated gestures and phrases for the students to mimic. Once the children become involved in the stories, almost as if by "accident," they will strengthen skills associated with Language Arts, Music, and Social Studies. They will even learn a few Choctaw words. Each program is specifically arranged in accordance with age-appropriate state curriculum guidelines (ie PASS or TEKS). Greg's multicultural story sessions are aften closed with a "jam session" in which a handful of students are invited to play along with the flute on Greg's drum and rattles.
